South Miami Art Festival
This is by far the biggest Chamber South event! We have over 50,000 visitors who come through the Art Festival over the course of the two days. Celebrating our 42nd year on the quaint streets of downtown South Miami, this juried fine art show featured nationally recognized artists and is a favorite annual event for residents and visitors alike. The 42nd Annual Show is on November 2-3, 2013. Chamber South also had the distinction of being selected as one of the top 200 shows by Sunshine Artist Magazine.

2012 Poster Winner
Ana Ivis Maxwell (Annie) was born in Guines, Cuba. At the age of 10 she immigrated to the United States with her parents and sister. The family settled in Miami, Florida.
This experience provided her with a profound understanding of the Caribbean with an American insight, which influences her work deeply. Annie was aware of her artistic abilities and aspirations at a young age, but found little time to pursue such yearnings. Over the past several years, she has been able to accomplish her artistic dreams by receiving encouragement, support and drawing strength from her husband, three daughters and son. She has attended various art schools to enrich her artistic growth, and has furthered her studies under the tutorship of noted masters from Cuba, Colombia and Spain.
Annie is very versatile when choosing her subject matter. She can easily navigate from traditional everyday life, to contemporary pieces by using very distinctive compositions. Her artworks compile a great deal of emotion, romanticism and color. Her unique style has been described as an explosion of powerful, yet soothing and delightful colors that seem to spill from the canvas. This exceptional use of color characterizes and defines her distinctive style. Her enchanting use of color and creativity amuses and captivates the observer. The several awards, honorable mentions and publications praising her work have been a source of great personal pride for her. Annie’s artwork has been exhibited in numerous individual and collective shows. Her pieces can be found in private collections throughout the United States, Europe and Canada.
