Nominations are now closed for the Steven J. Cranman & L. Russell Norton Awards

Steven J. Cranman Professional Public Service Award
Steven Cranman, a former executive Director of the Perrine-Cutler Ridge Council, was critical in leading his community back after Hurricane Andrew. As one of those rare people who never create a distinction between dedication to career and personal commitment to a volunteer organization, he bore the weight of his position as Executive Director with effectiveness and dignity. In his honor, Chamber South has established the Steven J. Cranman Professional Public Service Award which recognizes individuals whose accomplishments demonstrate their superior ability to use their position to find innovative solutions that benefit the Greater South Miami-Dade, Kendall and South Miami community. The Steven J. Cranman Professional Public Service Award is an annual award that will be presented at the annual Chamber South Chairman’s Gala to a public servant who best exemplifies this commitment to the community.

L. Russell Norton Service Award
Russ Norton, a president of the greater South Dade Chamber of Commerce, was dedicated to community service.  As a board member for no less than ten community organizations and active in countless others, he was an individual to be respected.  It was through community involvement that Russ Norton sought to better the community where he and his neighbors lived and worked.  He immersed himself whole heartedly into his efforts to serve the community he loved. It is in recognition of these commendable efforts that Chamber South has established an annual award that is presented at the annual Chamber South Chairman’s Gala to the member of Chamber South who best exemplifies this commitment to the community.
